Troubleshooting a Lopsided Mado shade

If one side of your Mado shade hangs lower than the other, the internal pulley system may be slightly uneven.

This can happen if the shade meets a minor obstruction while lowering. In most cases, the shade can be corrected by fully lowering it and allowing it to re-align.

Before You Begin

Make sure:

  • the shade is installed correctly on the TrueFit support bar

  • the shade is paired with a working remote

  • there are no obstructions below the shade

Step-by-Step Fix

  1. Enter config mode

Press and hold the Program button on the remote for about 3 seconds.

The shade will jog slightly to confirm it has entered config mode.

2. Fully lower the shade

Press the Down button.

Allow the shade to lower all the way to its maximum extension.

What this does:

At full extension, the internal pulleys can re-align and even out.

3. Raise the shade back up

Press the Up button.

Raise the shade until the bottom rail is level again. Continue raising it until the shade reaches the top and stops.

4. Set the lower limit again if needed

If needed, move the shade to your desired lower limit position.

Then press and hold the Center and Down buttons at the same time until the shade jogs.

This saves the current position as the new lower limit.

If the shade moves in the wrong direction

Symptom

Pressing Up causes the shade to go down, or pressing Down causes the shade to go up.

Cause

The shade has moved past its intended lower limit, which can cause the internal pulley direction to reverse.

Fix

Press the Up button, even if the shade continues lowering at first.

Keep pressing until the shade reaches its true lowest position. The shade should then pause briefly, reverse direction, and begin raising normally.

Once the fabric is hanging evenly again, raise the shade to the top and test it again.

When to contact support

Contact Mado Support if:

  • the shade still hangs unevenly after following these steps

  • the shade does not respond to the remote

  • the fabric does not return to an even position after a full lower and raise cycle

A couple of callouts on your original draft:

  • “self-correct” was fine, but “re-align” is a little clearer

  • “Stop at your desired lower limit position” was confusing in Step 3 because you are raising the shade back up, not stopping at the lower limit yet

  • “90+” felt a little too specific unless that number is confirmed across all sizes

  • I changed “lopsided” to lowercase in the title to match normal Help Center style
