Where to get the Mado Home app

The iOS version is available now from the App Store. The Android version will have the same core features, with a beta planned for May 2026 and full release planned for June 2026.

What you can do in the Mado Home app

Control your shades

Use the app to:

  • raise or lower shades individually

  • stop movement at any position

  • Control shades in groups (rooms)

View and manage connected shades

The app allows you to:

  • see all paired shades

  • identify individual shades by room or location

  • enable / disable Eco-mode on Mado-branded shades

    • Enabling ensures shades run on the eco-mode schedule shown next to the shade name (Green = raised, Black = lowered)

    • You can disable using your discretion based on near-term forecasts (temperature, sun-exposure i.e. UV index, cloud cover) visible within the app

Manage smart features - Eco-Mode

Eco-Mode - if enabled - automatically raises and lowers your shade to save your energy costs (heating / cooling). It takes into account forecast weather conditions and the orientation of the sun relative to your windows. Setup requires location of your home and orientation of your windows.

The app can be used to:

  • enable or adjust automation features such as Eco Mode

  • update device configuration, such as location (of Home) and orientation of window / shade

What the Mado Home app does not do

Some features are managed through your smart home platform instead of the Mado Home app.

For example:

  • voice control is handled through Apple Home, Alexa, or Google Home

  • platform-specific routines and scenes are created in those platforms

  • automation that depends on other smart devices is managed outside the Mado app

  • shade position control from outside your home’s WiFi network (except in the case where your shades are connected via an Apple smart-home Thread enabled hub)

How the Mado Home app works with your smart home

The Mado Home app is used to set up and manage your shades, and to control features that are specific to Mado, such as Eco Mode.

Once your shades are connected to a Matter-enabled hub, additional functionality such as voice control, automations, and routines is handled through your smart home platform.

This means you may use both the Mado Home app and your smart home app, depending on what you are trying to do. The Mado app focuses on device setup, configuration, and Mado-specific features, while your smart home platform handles broader home automation and integrations with other devices.

The Mado Home app is the central place to set up your shades and manage how they behave. It works alongside your smart home platform, with each handling different parts of the experience. Together, they provide a complete system for controlling your shades, whether you are making adjustments in the moment or building a more automated home environment.
