C-Series motorized shades support Matter and can be added directly to Google Home. After pairing, you can control your shade using the Google Home app, automations, and voice commands through compatible Google devices.
Before you begin
Make sure:
your shade is installed and responsive using the remote
your phone is connected to your home Wi-Fi network
you have the Google Home app installed
you have a Matter-compatible Google Home hub set up (such as a Nest Hub or Nest Mini)
you have access to the Matter QR code on your shade
Stay near your shade and hub during setup.
Step 1: Open the Google Home app
Open the Google Home app.
Tap Add.
Select Set up device.
Choose New device.
Select your home when prompted.
Step 2: Add your shade
Scan the Matter QR code on your shade.

Assign the shade to a room.
Once setup is complete, the shade will appear in the Google Home app.
Step 3: Test control
Use the Google Home app or voice commands to control your shade.
You can:
raise or lower the shade
adjust the shade position
include the shade in automations and routines
Example voice commands:
“Hey Google, open the living room shade.”
“Hey Google, close the bedroom shade.”
Step 4 (optional): Add your shade to the Mado Home app
You can also connect your shade to the Mado Home app to access additional features such as Eco Mode.
In the Google Home app, select your shade.
Open Device Settings.
Tap Linked Matter apps & services.
Tap Link apps & services.
After a few seconds, the shade will enter pairing mode. Copy the pairing code shown on screen.
Open the Mado Home app.
Add a new shade.
When prompted, select More options.
Choose your shade from the list of available accessories.
Paste the pairing code you copied from the Google Home app.
Follow the on-screen instructions to complete setup, including enabling Eco Mode.
Adding Google Home alongside other smart home platforms
If your shade is already connected to another Matter-compatible platform, you can add Google Home using Matter multi-admin.
Open the app where the shade is already connected.
Generate a new Matter pairing code.
In the Google Home app, repeat the steps above using the new code.
This allows the same shade to be controlled from multiple platforms without resetting it.
If the shade does not appear during setup
Check that:
the shade is powered on and responsive
your phone is on the correct Wi-Fi network
your Google Home hub supports Matter
the Matter QR code is scanned correctly
If pairing still fails, remove the device from any previously connected platforms and try again using a new Matter pairing code.
