How to connect your C-series motorized shades to Apple branded Home Hub using the Mado Home app

Follow these steps to add your C-Series motorized shade to Apple Home using Matter. Once connected, you can control your shade with the Apple Home app and Siri.

C-Series motorized shades support Matter and can be added directly to Apple Home. After pairing, you can control your shade using the Apple Home app, scenes, automations, and Siri.

Before you begin

Make sure:

  • your shade is installed and powered on

  • your iPhone or iPad is connected to your home Wi-Fi network

  • you have a Thread-enabled Apple home hub set up (such as a HomePod or Apple TV)

  • you have the located the Matter QR code at the bottom of the shade

Step 1: Open the Apple Home app

  1. Open the Apple Home app on your iPhone or iPad.

  2. Tap on “+

  3. Tap Add Accessory.

Step 2: Add your shade

  1. Scan the Matter QR code provided with your shade. Typically this is printed on the bottom of the shade.

  2. Follow the on-screen instructions.

  3. Assign the shade to a room when prompted.

Once setup is complete, your shade will appear in the Apple Home app.

Step 3: Test control

Use the Apple Home app to:

  • raise or lower the shade

  • adjust the shade position

  • include the shade in scenes or automations

You can also control the shade using Siri after setup.

Adding Apple Home alongside other smart home platforms

If your shade is already connected to another Matter-compatible system, use Matter multi-admin:

  1. Open the app where the shade is already connected.

  2. Generate a new Matter pairing code (this step also puts shade in pairing state).

  3. Add the shade in the Apple Home app using that code.

    1. Select “More Options” instead of scanning a QR code

    2. Find your shade in the “Nearby” category

    3. Paste or type in your numeric Matter code

If the shade does not appear during setup

Check that:

  • the shade is powered on

  • your phone is on the correct Wi-Fi network

  • the Matter setup code is entered correctly

  • the shade is not already paired only to another system without multi-admin sharing enabled

If needed, remove the shade from Settings > General > Matter Accessories on your iPhone and try again.
