Key Observations & Speed Differences

  • Remote Control Speed Toggling: Shades can accidentally or intentionally be set to Quiet (Slow) mode when using the remote control.

  • Multi-Shade Speed Mismatch: If you have multiple shades in the same room, you may notice a difference in operating speeds between them if one has been set to Quiet mode while others remain in Normal mode.

  • Home Automation Operations: Smart home routines and automations (via Apple Home, Google Home, Alexa, or SmartThings) automatically use Quiet mode to maintain quiet background operation.

To align or adjust the remote control operating speed of a shade, follow the step-by-step instructions below to power down the shade and power it back on in your preferred mode.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Turn Off the Shade

  1. On the shade motor controller, press and hold the PROG button.

  2. The light will turn solid green. Continue holding the button.

  3. After approximately 5 seconds, the light will blink Amber twice.

  4. Release the button immediately. The shade is now powered off.

Step 2a: Turn On for Normal (Fast) Mode (Remote Control)

Use this option to restore maximum speed when operating the shade via the Mado Remote Control.

  1. Press and hold the PROG button on the shade controller until the light blinks Green twice (approx. 3 seconds).

  2. Release the button.

  3. The shade is now turned on and configured for Normal (Fast) speed operation with the remote control.

Step 2b: Turn On for Quiet (Slow) Mode (Remote Control)

Use this option if you prefer whisper-quiet shade movement when using the Mado Remote Control.

  1. Press and hold the NWK button on the shade controller until the light blinks 4 times (approx. 3 seconds).

  2. Release the button.

  3. The shade is now turned on and configured for Quiet (Slow) speed operation with the remote control.

Verification & Testing

  • Test Remote Response: Press the Up or Down button on your remote control to verify that the shade operates at your desired speed.

  • Syncing Multiple Shades: If multiple shades in a single room are moving out of sync, perform Step 1 followed by Step 2a on each shade to ensure all devices are set to Normal (Fast) mode.
