Issue: The TrueFit™ Bar does not lock
The extensible TrueFit™ Bar included with the shade does not lock in place when twisted. This can prevent the bar from maintaining the tension required for a secure, pressure-based fit inside your window frame.
Resolution: Resetting the internal slide
If twisting the bar at its current extension does not engage the locking mechanism, you can reset the internal slide by following these steps:
Extend to maximum length: Extend the TrueFit™ Bar to its maximum length. Take care to ensure that the two sections of the bar do not come apart entirely.
Twist to engage: Once fully extended, twist the bar as shown in the figure below.
This action moves the internal slide and should lock the bar in place.
3. Unlock and install: Reverse the twist to unlock the bar. You can now proceed with your regular installation process. Twisting the bar at any extension should now successfully lock it in place.
