If your Mado remote is not responding correctly, start by firmly pressing each of the three front buttons:
Up
Center
Down
Check whether the blue light turns on when each button is pressed. In some cases, the remote may need a firmer press after the battery tab is first removed.
If the buttons still do not respond correctly, the battery may not be making solid contact inside the remote.
If the battery is not making solid contact with the gold contact points inside the remote, one or more buttons may not light up or respond consistently. In many cases, gently lifting the contact tabs slightly upward helps the battery sit more securely against the connection points.
To check and reseat the battery connection:
Remove the back cover from the remote.
Take the battery out.
Locate the small gold battery contact tabs inside the battery compartment.
Using a small screwdriver or similar tool, gently lift the gold contact tabs slightly upward.
Reinsert the battery firmly in the correct direction.
Replace the back cover.
Press each front button again and check whether the blue light comes on.
After reseating the battery, test the remote with the shade again. Confirm that the blue light turns on and that the Up, Stop / Center, and Down buttons all respond correctly.
The Mado mini remote also includes a small recessed program button on the back. This button is used during certain setup and pairing steps and is pressed with a paper clip or small pin. It is separate from the three main front buttons used for everyday shade control.
If only one button still lights up or responds after checking the battery connection, please contact Mado Support and include a short video showing:

How the shade responds
If the remote issue caused the shade to move too far in one direction or become uneven, the shade may need to be realigned. Follow the steps in our lopsided shade troubleshooting article:
In most cases, lowering the shade fully in CONFIG mode and then raising it again allows the internal pulley system to realign.
If the remote still does not respond after trying these steps, contact Mado Support and we’ll help determine the next best step.
