Troubleshooting when the app cannot control the shade but the remote works

If your shade responds to the remote but not the app, follow these steps to restore control through the Mado Home app or your smart home app.

If you can move your shade up and down using the Mado remote control but not with the Mado Home app on your phone or other smart home controls, your shade has power and is working, but may be having trouble communicating with your home network.

Check your phone connection

If needed:

  • reconnect to your Wi-Fi network

  • turn Wi-Fi off and back on

Then try controlling the shade again.

Check your home hub

Make sure your home hub:

• is powered on

• is connected to your home network

If your home hub is offline, the app will not be able to control the shade.

Restart your Wi-Fi network

Network issues can prevent the app from reaching your shade.

Restart your Wi-Fi router, then wait a few minutes for the network to come back online.

Once everything reconnects, try again.

Confirm the shade is still connected

Open the Mado Home app or your smart home app and check if the shade appears.

If the shade shows as offline or not responding:

• wait a moment and refresh the app

• try closing and reopening the app
