What is included with your Mado installation kit

See what comes in your installation kit, including the tools used to measure, trim, and install your shade.

A different kind of installation kit

Most window coverings require you to gather tools before you begin. Measuring, trimming, leveling, and mounting each introduce their own requirements, and it is easy to find yourself halfway through an installation looking for something you do not have.

The Mado installation kit is designed to avoid that.

Installation does involve tools. The difference is that everything you need is already included. You do not need to bring your own measuring tape, level, or specialty tools. The process is designed so you can move from measuring to trimming to installation without leaving the room.

One kit, not one per shade

The installation kit is not tied to a single shade.

It is designed to be used across all of the shades in your home. Once you have installed your first shade, the same tools carry through to the next. The process becomes faster and more intuitive each time.

You can think of the kit as a small set of purpose-built tools that support the entire system, not just a single product.

What the kit is designed to do

Each item in the kit supports one part of the installation process:

  • setting the correct width

  • trimming the shade

  • aligning the installation

  • securing the final result

The goal is not to introduce complexity, but to remove variability. When the same tools are used in the same way each time, the outcome becomes more predictable.

Tools included in the installation kit

PerfectTrim™ Tool

Used to cut the shade to the correct width based on your fit number.

Magnetic level

Helps ensure the shade is level during installation.

Wrench

Used to tighten and secure the TrueFit Bar during inside-mount installation.

Mounting guides

Temporary guides that help position the TrueFit Bar level and centered before tightening.

Screwdriver

Used to remove existing window hardware and, if needed, install mounting brackets for outside-mount installations.

Measuring tape

A compact measuring tape used primarily for planning and reference. The outside of the tape includes fit ranges for each shade size, which can help you choose sizes for additional windows in your home. It can also be used when sizing a shade for outside-mount installation.

Fabric sample

A piece of sample material used to test the PerfectTrim Tool before trimming your shade. This may not match your exact shade material, but it is the same type of fabric and is intended for practice.

What is not part of the installation kit

Some components used during installation are included with the shade itself, not the installation kit.

These may include:

  • mounting brackets for outside-mount installation

  • screw-in mounts (if included with your product configuration)

  • adhesive dots for the ends of the TrueFit Bar

Before you begin

Before starting installation, confirm that all items are present and ready to use.
