How to install the Optional Center Mount Bracket for L and XL size shades

If your L or XL Mado shade's TrueFit support bar sags slightly toward the center after installation, the included Center Mount Brackets provide additional support to keep everything level. This article describes how to install these brackets.

Before You Begin

Make sure:

• Your shade is an L (48"–60") or XL (60"–72") C-Series Mado shade

• The TrueFit support bar is already installed

• You have two Center Mount Brackets with adhesive liners (included in your kit)

• The window frame surface is clean and dry where the bracket will be placed

• The shade is removed from the support bar for easy access

Step 1: Position the bracket

Locate the center of the support bar. Hold the Center Mount Bracket so the open "C" shape faces upward — the support bar should rest inside it.

Step 2: Mark the placement

With the brackets positioned on either side of the center of the support bar, note where the bracket's flat surface meets the window frame. This is where the adhesive will be applied. Mark the positions.

Note: While the brackets should be offset from the center, they should not be too far from the center so as to avoid interfering with the sliding portion of the shade’s top bar (shown in gray below). The blue arrows show the acceptable position for the brackets.

Step 3: Apply the bracket

Peel the liner from the adhesive pad on each of the bracket's flat surface. Press the brackets firmly against the window frame at the marked location.

Step 4: Seat the support bar

Place the TrueFit support bar inside the "C" shape of the bracket. The bar should rest comfortably in the bracket without forcing it. Confirm the bar is level.

Step 5: Re-install the shade

Clip your shade back onto the support bar and verify it moves freely. The bracket should support the center without interfering with the shade's operation.

When to use this bracket

  • This bracket can be used to enhance your “inside mount” installation.

  • The Center Mount Brackets are optional — not every L or XL installation will need it. If your shade operates smoothly and the support bar shows no sag, the bracket isn't required.
