How to install the Optional Center Mount Bracket for L and XL size shades

If your L or XL Mado shade's TrueFit support bar sags slightly toward the center after installation, the included Center Mount Bracket provides additional support to keep everything level. This article describes how to install this bracket.

Before You Begin

Make sure:

• Your shade is an L (48"–60") or XL (60"–72") C-Series Mado shade

• The TrueFit support bar is already installed

• You have a Center Mount Bracket with adhesive liner (if this is not in your kit, please contact our support team at [email protected])

• The window frame surface is clean and dry where the bracket will be placed

Step 1: Remove only the shade from the TrueFit bar.

  • Be sure to grip the headrail only as you pull the shade off the TrueFit bar

  • The clips on the shade should disengage easily, and the TrueFit bar should remain in place.

Step 2: Locate the ideal position for the bracket on the TrueFit bar

Hold the Center Mount Bracket so the open "C" shape faces towards the window — the larger diameter end of the TrueFit bar should rest inside the bracket.

The Center Mount bracket should be

  • Offset from the TrueFit bar's center (to avoid interference with the internal clip)

  • Mounted on the larger diameter side of the TrueFit bar

  • Avoid the telescoping headrail end as shown in the image below

The blue arrow shows the acceptable zone for positioning the bracket.

Step 3: Apply the Center Mount bracket to the TrueFit bar, stick it to the window frame

Peel the liner from the adhesive pad on the bracket's flat surface.

Clip the Center Mount bracket to the TrueFit bar

Firmly press the Center Mount bracket up towards the window frame surface.

If the bracket’s adhesive liner is not flush with the window frame surface, it is likely your TrueFit bar needs to be nudged closer to top. Use the mounting guide to help with the correct spacing.

See this article for guidance on using the mounting guide.

Step 4: Re-install the shade

Clip your shade back onto the support bar and verify it moves freely. The bracket should support the center without interfering with the shade's operation.

When to use this bracket

This bracket can be used to enhance your “inside mount” installation.

  • The Center Mount Bracket is optional — not every L or XL installation will need it. If your shade operates smoothly and the support bar shows no sag, the bracket isn't required.
