What the mounting guides are for
Mounting guides are temporary alignment tools included to make installation more accurate and predictable.
They are designed to help position the TrueFit Bar™ inside the window frame before it is tightened into place. Rather than relying on measuring or adjusting by eye, the guides give you a clear reference for where the TrueFit Bar™ should sit.
They do not support the shade or remain in place for the final installation of the shade. Their role is to help you get placement right on the first try.
How they fit into the installation process
Mounting guides are used at the moment when the TrueFit Bar™ is first placed into the window frame.
At this stage, the TrueFit Bar™ is not yet secured. The guides rest against the edges of the frame and help establish the correct height, alignment, and position. Once the TrueFit Bar™ is extended and tightened, their job is complete.
They are then removed before finishing the installation.
What they help ensure
Using the mounting guides helps ensure that the TrueFit Bar™ is:
positioned at the correct height
level across the window (you can confirm this with the included magnetic level)
evenly aligned on both sides
placed correctly before tightening
This reduces the likelihood of needing to loosen and reposition the TrueFit Bar™ after installation.
